I know the general timeline for Batman and the evolution of the "Family," it just freaks me out how compressed it is. Sadly, I started reading at "Cataclysm" and "No Man's Land," so while I know what happened, the major players since Bruce's parents' deaths, and all that jazz, I've never really had a firm fix on how it all evolved. How fast it went, that Bruce was so young at present time.
I did read "Death in the Family" whilst waiting for my friends to decide which manga and RP books they wanted to purchase several years ago. It kind of makes me laugh to see that the fans wanted him dead.
mrsix actually just pointed me toward that most recent Red Mask issue. I'm currently in his neck of the woods.
As for the why - I've decided to write a paper presenting Batman as the "logical" evolution of the previously mentioned works - Pimpernel and Monte-Cristo. At Barnes & Noble today, it occurred to me that including Zorro couldn't hurt anyone save my time and bank account.
