adelynne: (bored now)

I'm bored with my icons. I'm also possibly bored at work, or maybe it's just that I don't feel well and so don't feel like working. Either way, I'm missing a lot of what [ profile] lodessa described as "situational icons" (i.e.: "WTF?" or something about being excited). Definitely would like an icon to express some portion of my con-going experiences. More's the pity, then, that I'm stumped as to how to go about creating these.

Ideas, oh wise Internets?
Spent the afternoon making icons - this one is a partial of the Vertigo Tarot's 9 of Wands. I particularly liked the image of human ingenuity and power breaking through the box.

Other icons from my binge can be found here, naturally - everything after the writer's block one is new. Free to a good home, but please let me know what you take and do not hotlink.

Otherwise, I've been at work on not-so-sooper-sekrit-craft-project, and trying to compensate for having stayed up 'till 4 AM futzing with the desktop. Futzing with the desktop continued on various levels throughout the rest of the day, but I think I've gotten it to the point where I can deal until I purchase a box with a fan powerful enough to keep my processor cool. As is, there's a voronado pointed at the box to keep it manageable and from frying anything.

Still re-reading Austen like it's going out of style. Maybe I'll even tackle Mansfield Park once I've gone over all my favorite scenes to death.

I think I shall crash early to compensate for poor bedtime this morning.
I strongly dislike animated icons as a rule. I tell you this, dear people, so that you will understand how seriously geeked I am when I say the following:

I absolutely need to find/make/get someone with more talent to construct an animated icon of Ivanova, White Stars, and the ships out of "Into the Fire" (4x06), which says "My White Star brings all the First Ones to the yard."

Thank you, and good night!

I give in. Paid account status for me!

Part of the reason I give in is my sudden urge to make an icon out of the oil lamp [ profile] ellen_kushner gave me prior to her departure from this fair city. So, here 'tis. It's sitting on my very first writing journal, and the words are from a translation of "The Dark Night of the Soul" by Juan de la Cruz.

My very first one.

So, [ profile] bethbethbeth requested a Snape/Rasputin icon with some fun text at The Witching Hour last weekend, and after some ditzing around in Photoshop, I made a bunch.

Free to a good home, with credit. Please don't hotlink, you are more than welcome to alter. If someone would like me to post blanks, comment, and I will. Enjoy.

Anyone here read cyrillic? )
