I've given in and decided to enter the HP [livejournal.com profile] femgenficathon. The premise intrigues me too much for me to let it go, apparently. Who knows, I may actually re-read all the books for the purpose. If I've got enough time to squeeze them in between Asimov and Marlowe.

Thank you to everyone who recommended reading material. I've made a long, long list, and started with the ones we have about the house. I finished The Last Unicorn earlier this week, and moved onto my boyfriend's copies of the Foundation series. Should be an enlightening experience.

In other news, I have need of someone to help me with my Weir essay. I have ideas, but I've completely forgotten how to compose them logically into a cogent essay. That, and I need a list of complaints against the character to mount an able defense. So I guess what I'm asking for is for people to spam my journal with things they like and don't like about Elizabeth Weir. And someone to rearrange my head logically.

Speaking of essays, having editted a portion of [livejournal.com profile] lareinenoire's thesis, I have the absurd desire to write a comparison/contrast of Le Comte de Monte-Cristo and Batman. This desire will only intesify with the movie coming out next week, and I suspect I'll cave into it shortly after I've finished the Weir piece. At the moment, however, my sheer laziness - and the fact that I've only read Monte-Cristo in Russian, the last time years ago - conspire to keep it at a tame level.
