To Wiscon or not to Wiscon?

Following up rosefox's entry, I'm still undecided on Wiscon.

Pros:
- lots of cool people
- lots of cool programming
- great reviews
- know people who are going - fun can be had

Cons:
- weekend before our trip to England (though Memorial Day weekend, and time off can be had)
- plane tickets are expensive, and we should be saving for things, such as England
- hotel rooms?
- convincing Doyle he wants to come.

Er. With the side note that I think you were not thrilled by recent con-going experiences, and I'm not sure exactly what went wrong, so I'm not sure if Wiscon will be better.

Recent con-going experiences have had to put up with (a) the high standards last year's Readercon set, and (b) a bad back. The back is doing much better, and I hope by May will be able to resume normal activity.

Also, having a much smaller group attending Boskone than I expected really didn't prime me for a weekend of fun - we wound up leaving early and not really staying for the parties because of my back, too.

And the "Readercon only better" is a massive selling point.

But! Plane tickets are damn tough. So I totally understand if you guys can't come.

Oh, good. I did take some random stuff with that letterhead on it late Wednesday, but I couldn't find you online yesterday to confirm. :)

Yes, we have; we're just waiting to sort out all the details before we announce it.

Would you just scan in the whole page and email it to me? That way I'll have the letterhead properly aligned on the paper.
