After being foiled in my attempts to get to Readercon 16 yesterday, I succeeded today, and am so very happy I did. After attending a panel on teaching science fiction in a university setting, I got to meet
blackholly, and tell her how much she rocks. Then, I got to meet
ellen_kushner and tell her how much she rocks. Then she signed my copies of Swordspoint and The Fall of Kings and told me that Delia Sherman was around, so she could sign Kings too (which she did, after a bit of looking). And finally I got to chat with Ellen and a bunch of other people at a Kaffeeklatch. After which, I met
mroctober on my way out to the car.
Plus, my loot includes a signed first edition of Snow White, Blood Red and a 1884 edtion of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World. I also managed to pick up a really neat gift for my dad's birthday, and a few other surprises for people.
All in all, wonderful time. I shall have to pre-register for next year's event.
